The Lac Cultivation Initiative by S&D Group aims to revive traditional lac farming in Purulia, West Bengal, empowering tribal and marginal farmers through skill development, cluster-based support, and modern processing infrastructure.
Tribal and marginal farmers, women, and youth from Purulia can participate. The project organizes farmers into clusters and SHGs/cooperatives, providing training and market linkages.
The initiative will generate employment, increase household income, promote eco-friendly practices, empower women and youth, and help revive Purulia’s lac industry for sustainable rural development.
